Types of peer instruction:

  • Peer-led team learning (NSF-funded program)
  • Supplemental peer teaching
  • Collaborative and cooperative learning (e.g. Jigsaw, roundtable, think-pair-share, buzz groups, affinity groups)
  • Inquiry-based learning (case studies, interactive software)

Goals of the Learning Community

Set up a group on Ning – 4 discussion topics posted:
  1. How to recruit & train peer teachers
  2. Logistics
  3. Setting up sessions
  4. Outcomes assessment – measurable goals
